Studio Diaries: Choosing the right sofa

When I decided to stay in my studio and take over the entire space instead of trying to find a new space, I knew I needed to make it feel cozy, as well as maintaining the open layout and flexibility of the space.

People used to come into the studio and not have anywhere to sit. There wasn’t enough room! But with the expansion now possible, that needed to change.

We needed a good sofa for meetings, pattern writing, afternoon powwows, and the occasional cat nap…

We looked to the family business  Jonathan Louis, who design beautiful, well made furnishings that are unique, and fit perfectly into our style. Just like us, they take pride in creating  well made and long lasting items for your home (or studio) for generations to enjoy. And many of their items are made right here in the USA!

We selected swatches (we chose the Maddock Sofa) and you can too.

They even recently launched a collaboration with our long time friend Justina Blakeney, I am obsessed with the new line they have made together and might even need to get a new couch for our living room!

Click here to find a dealer near you.  The couch is so comfortable and there are so many amazing items to choose from!

More studio diaries to come. Stay tuned!
